Facebook Ads The Right Way Part 2

Mar 13th, 2010

To continue with Facebook Ads I wanted to talk about the ability to target your buyers. By targeting your potential customers you will have a much higher conversion. Let us go back to the weight loss ad. This is a bit tougher to target in Facebook. What can you target in Facebook:

Location
College graduate
Favorite books
Favorite activities
Age
Relationship
Sex
Workplace

Going back to being the weight loss ads not many people are going to put down as an activity “loosing weight”. What you can do is start to target women in their mid 30s for instance. Women who have had children recently would be a good target for weight loss. Targeting men is a bit harder. You will have to have a different Ad all together. It might be better to target those who are buying “6 pack abs” and have something to the effect “still can’t see those 6 packs? Try our weight loss program that will have those 6 packs showing in no time.”

This does roll into another subject I will be talking about more. It is what motivates people to click on a button or to buy a product? There are a couple of thoughts out there and you have probably run across many in the past and may have employed these tactics yourself.

1. What desires are people looking to fill
a. Loose weight = look and feel good = have better relationships with oneself and others = create wealth

So we know that someone has clicked on the weight loss ad.

We have given them an answer that was promised (we have gained trust).

We now are in the offer and if you are an affiliate you will more then likely use the affiliate page.

Here are the two schools of thought.

1. Have a sales page with triggers that work the emotions of the above.

Or you can use the give people more then they expect. You will still need to know what motivates a person. You will want to be able to resolve those issues that they want. Now you have a customer for life. You were able to help them where so many have not been able.

Some say both can be combined but I think the second will do a much better trick then the first. You can certainly use the first method but the second method had better be delivered. Have you bought something and feel you were taken advantage of and swindled out of your money? Would you buy from them again? Would you recommend anyone buy anything from him or her? My point is made.
